Overheard in the Seattle Public Library

Or, more to the point, in the pale green men's bathroom on the deep red fourth floor:

"Don't let the colored walls lure you into a false sense of security."

Fine advice, it seems. I'm enjoying looking at this building from outside of it, but I feel utterly unnerved when I'm inside of it.

I absolutely love the SPL Central building as a building, I find it fun and entertaining to be inside of it. (But maybe I like being unnerved sometimes).

My mind is still un-made-up as to whether it functions well (or even acceptably) as a library though.

I do like the reading room on the top floor as a place to sit and read or study.

Several people to whom I've made my "unnerved" comment have responded like you, that they love the building. Eye of the book holder, I suppose!
